Develop for Democracy! Volunteer web developers needed

Vote for Policies is a volunteer-run, independent, and politically neutral service with the aim of helping more people to vote – and know exactly what they’re voting for. Our website enables people to compare policies without knowing which party they belong to. It’s our method of increasing turnout, and the results are really surprising. Over 1.5 million people have used our service so far, and according to a national poll 35% are more likely to vote after using it.

We have lots of exciting plans for the run up to the next general election. To help us get take our service to the next level we need to make changes to the site that will improve the user experience, add new features, and help us manage the content more easily. This is where we need your help.

We’re looking for skilled front-end and back-end developers, and the technology stack requires plenty of experience with PHP, Symfony 2, MySQL, Redis and AWS.

If you can contribute a small but regular amount of time each week, we’d love you to join our movement to help more people to vote, and make an informed choice when they do. If this sounds like you, please get in touch with Matt at matt.cm@voteforpolicies.org.uk
